Art Show

Elsie really loves to paint.  Between our home activities and preschool, our house is filling up fast with lovely masterpieces.  I strung a piece of wire up above our counter in our living room.  Using clothes pins, I can hang three or four paintings for display at any given time.  That's about the right level of devoted admiration for me.  Plenty to look at without feeling that it's taking over the house.  I just cleaned out some of the older ones and hung up new ones.  Here's a sampling of Elsie's 2012 work, from most recent to oldest.

  1. I love her self portrait! And of course dad the parrot. Quite the little artist you have!

  2. #2 is my favorite, but "Mommy lives in the car" made me laugh out loud. Great artwork!

  4. The living in the car quote is extra perplexing as I didn't even have a car until fairly recently, and I still try to walk as many places as possible on foot. Though that little comment is a surprisingly acute criticism of the soccer-mom life exemplified by my neighbor who jokes, "I don't need a bigger house, I need a bigger car. That's where I spend all my time."
